Vatican releases details of pope's trip July 5-12 to South America

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope Francis' July 5-12 visit to Latin America will not take him to his native Argentina, but it will put him closely in touch with his Jesuit roots and with one of the main characteristics of his ministry as archbishop of Buenos Aires: direct contact with the poor, the sick and those striving to bring the Gospel to bear on social inequalities.

The pope will begin his three-nation South America tour in Ecuador before moving on to Bolivia and Paraguay, the Vatican announced May 8 when it published a detailed itinerary for the visit.

Although local Jesuit communities have enjoyed Pope Francis' special attention on several of the seven foreign trips he already has made as pope, the South American trip is the first time the Vatican has listed the encounter on the official schedule. He will have lunch July 6 with the Jesuit community at Colegio Javier in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

The next evening, he will pay a "private visit" to Quito's Church of the Society of Jesus, known as "La Compania," a jewel of Spanish Baroque architecture. The first Jesuits reached Ecuador in 1574, just 34 years after the society was founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola. Work on the church in Quito began in 1605.

Pope Francis will spend less than four hours in Bolivia's capital, La Paz. Vatican sources said the city's high elevation made it advisable for him to visit only briefly. The same evening he arrives in Bolivia, July 8, he will fly on to Santa Cruz after the welcoming ceremony, a visit with the president and a meeting with civil authorities.

Pope Francis will have the official welcoming ceremonies and private visits with the presidents of Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay as dictated by protocol; in addition, the pope will meet "civil society" leaders in Ecuador, government officials in Bolivia and members of the diplomatic corps in Paraguay.

But the heart of the visit is expected to be his public Masses and the time he spends with people often on the margins of society. On July 8, he will visit a home for the aged run by the Missionaries of Charity in Quito; in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, he will address participants in the second World Meeting of Popular Movements, a group of grass-roots activists; and in Asuncion, Paraguay, he will visit both a pediatric hospital and the residents of one of the city's poorest neighborhoods, Banado Norte.

Ang Cathedral po ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa Salt Lake City, USA ay magdiriwang ng ika-100 taon sa linggong ito.

Tinawag nilang "Cathedral Week" ang linggong ito bilang paggunita sa simpleng paglago ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa Salt Lake City. Magkakaroon ng pagdiriwang ng Banal na Misa, pagsasaya, lectures at mga tugtugan sa linggong ito. Kabilang si Cardinal William J. Levada sa mga dadalong panauhin sa nasabing pagganap.

Ang kasaysayan ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa Salt Lake ay parangal sa mga misyonerong Franciscans. Sila ang kauna-unahang mga Kristianong bumisita sa lugar na ito na tinawag di kalaunan sa pangalang Salt Lake. Ito ay noong 1776 ayon sa Diocese ng Salt Lake City.

Ang Salt Lake ay lugay kung saan ang samahang Mormons ay unang sumibol. Kilala rin ang mga Mormons sa pangalang The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ayon sa samahang ito, si Joseph Smith ay ang "Huling Propeta" at siya'y sinugo upang itatag muli ang Iglesia.

Sila'y naniniwala na ang Iglesia Katolika ay siyang tunay na Iglesia ngunit ito'y natalikod na ganap.

Si Bishop John C. Wester, obispo ng Salt Lake City ang siyang mangunguna sa pagdiriwang kasama ang kapitapitagang adult choirs na umaawit ng English at Spanish na mga kanta.

Magalak ka Mexico at Cuba darating ang kahalili ni San Pedro

MEXICO - Bukas araw ng Biernes sa Mexico, darating ang Kanyang Kabanalan Papa Benito XVI sa Mexico pagkatapos ay tutungo naman siya sa Cuba.

Sa kasalukuyan ang bansang Mexico ay may 108,426,000 na bilang ng tao kung saan may 99,635,000 (91.89 percent) ay mga kaanib ng pangkalahatang Iglesia ni Cristo. Ang Cuba naman ay may 11,242,000, kung saan 6,766,000 (60.19 percent) ay mga kaanib ng Katolikong Iglesia ni Cristo (basahin ang kabuuan ng balita rito).

Bilang paghahanda, ang Mayor ng Leon, Mexico na si Ricardo Sheffield, mayor of Leon ay tumanggap ng pahayagang "exclusive" para i-cover ang buong panahong pagbisita ng Santo Papa.

Ang mga mamamayan nito ay handang-handa na at humihingi ng panalanging magiging matagumpay ang kanyang pagbisita.

Sa Cuba naman, bilang paghahanda, pinakawalan ng gobyerno ang may 2,900 na bilanggo buwan bago pa lamang ang pagdalaw ng Santo Papa. Ayon sa Sunday Catholic, malaking tulong ang pagdalaw ng Santo Papa sa mga political prisoners. Ang respetong binibigay ng gobyerno ng Cuba sa Iglesia ay napakalaki't kaya hindi nila mahindian ang panawagan ng Santo Papa na bigyan ng hustisya ang mga nakakulong na mga bilanggo.

Ang bansang Cuba ay isa sa mga natitirang mga bansang Komunista.

Ipagdasal natin na maging matagumpay ang pagbisita ng kahalili ni San Pedro sa lupa-- si Papa Benito XVI.

Pinangalanan ng Santo Papa Benito XVI noong 19 ng Enero si Most Rev. William Skula bilang bagong Arsobispo ng Pangkalahatang Iglesia ni Cristo ng Byzantine Archeparchy ng Pittsburge sa Estados Unidos.

Ang bagoang arsobispo ang iluluklok sa darating na ika-18 ng Abril, 2012 bilang kapalit ng namayapang si Arsobispo Basil Schott na namatay noong Hunyo ng 2010.

Kinabibilangan ng parokya ng San Pedro at Pablo Byzantine Catholic Church sa Erie at ang parokya ng San Cyril at Methodius Byzantium Catholic Church sa Louisiana at Texas.

Ang Iglesia ni Cristo ay may 21 Rites maliban sa Latin Rite na karaniwang nakikita at napapanood natin sa EWTN at iba pang mga Katolikong istasyon ng TV.

Ipagdasal natin ang Iglesia ni Cristo na laganap sa buong mundo upang lalong dumami pa ang tunay na sumasampalataya kay Cristo Hesus na Panginoon natin at Dios patungo sa kaganapan ng lahat ng pangako niyang "kailanman ay hindi mananaig ang kadiliman" sa kanyang tunay na Iglesia (Mt. 16).

Dagsaang Pag-anib ng mga Anglicans sa Iglesia ni Cristo

Hindi naman linggid sa kaalaman ng nakakarami na dagsaan pong pag-anib ng mga kaanib sa Anglican Church tungo sa Pangkalahatang Iglesia ni Cristo.

Ang akala ng nakakarami ay ngayong panahon lamang ni Papa Benito XVI ang pag-anib ng mga Anglicans ngunit sa katunayan ay panahon pa ni Beato Juan Pablo II ang pagbabalak ng maraming Anglicans tungo sa Roma.

Ngayon at buo na ang Anglicanorum Coetibus, pormal nang kaanib ng Iglesia ni Cristo ang mga lumipat na mga Anglicans. Kaya't sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon sa Estados Unidos, nagkaroon ng parokya sa Mount Calvary Church sa Baltimore ang mga dating Anglicans na ngayon ay kaanib na ng Iglesia.

Salamat sa malaking pang-unawa ng mahal na Santo Papa sapagkat naging mas lumalim ang kahulugan ng pagiging Kristiano sa Iglesia Katolika.

Ang Kahalili ni San Pedro ng Iglesia ni Cristo ay dadalaw sa Mexico at Cuba

Pinal at tuloy na po ang balak ng Santo Papa Benito XVI, ang ika-266 Papa ng Iglesia ni Cristo.

Ayon sa napagkasunduan, ang Santo Papa ay nasa Mexico at Cuba bago pa man ang pagdiriwang ng Pasko ng Pagkabuhay. Sa nakuhang talaan ng kanyang pagdalaw, si Papa Benito XVI ay nasa Mexico sa ika-23-26 ng Marso, 2012 at tutuloy sa bansang Cuba, isang Komunistang bansa, mula ika 26 ng Marso bago siya tumulak pabalik ng Vatican.
