Patuloy pa rin ang lumalalim na sigalot sa pamilya ng yumaong Ka Eraño G. Manalo (EGM). Simpleng tubig na inumin ay ayaw pang palusutin ng mga bantay.  Ayon naman kay Edwin Zabala, ang opisyal na tagapag-salita ni Eduardo V. Manalo (EVM), ginagawa lamang daw nila ang karapatan ng 'Iglesia Ni Cristo' (INC) bilang legal na nagmamay-ari sa nasabing tirahan ng mga Manalo. Pero KANINO nga ba ang Iglesia Ni Cristo? Hindi ba't ito ay ITINATAG ni FELIX MANALO na AMA ni EGM na LOLO naman EVM at nang kanyang mga kapatid sa ama? Wala bang KARAPATAN ang mga LAHI ni FELIX MANALO upang ARIIN ang kanilang kinatitirhan?

Iglesia row flares up anew at QC property

Guards posted by the Iglesia ni Cristo are barring the delivery of food and water to a disputed property in Quezon City, where the expelled siblings of INC executive minister Eduardo Manalo remain holed up almost a year after a leadership crisis rocked the influential religious group.

This was according to lawyer Trixie Cruz Angeles, who said the property’s occupants—led by her clients, siblings Angel Manalo and Lottie Manalo-Hemedez—were being deprived of supplies since Thursday at No. 36, Tandang Sora Avenue.

Told of the lawyer’s complaint, INC spokesperson Edwil Zabala issued a statement saying the church was just exercising its right as the legitimate owner of the property. He also cited “the unauthorized presence of unknown armed men” inside it.

The Tandang Sora address has served as the home of the church’s founding family since the 1970s, but the internal feud that went public in July 2015 has since led to a legal battle between Hemedez and the INC over the property’s ownership.

The INC then asked a Quezon City court to bar visitors to the property, citing security reasons, while Hemedez filed a complaint saying a 2015 document bearing her signature and affirming the sale of the property to INC was falsified. The city prosecutor’s office on May 6 dismissed Hemedez’s complaint for lack of evidence.

The country’s Catholic community is the world's youngest. On 28 August, it will celebrate the ordination of Deacon Joseph Enkhee-Baatar. “One of us has it made! And if he did it, others will follow his example. We are sure that there will be many after him." An indigenous Catholic minister will be able to “connect our faith with what our” traditions.

Ulaanbaatar (AsiaNews) – On 28 August of this year, Mongolia’s tiny Catholic community will welcome its first native priest, Joseph Enkhee-Baatar, at a service in Ulaanbaatar’s Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral led by Mgr Wenceslao Padilla, apostolic prefect of Mongolia.

In December 2014, the future priest was ordained deacon by Mgr Lazzaro You Heung-sik, bishop of Daejeon. Fr Giorgio Marengo, a Consolata missionary present in the country since 2003, sent AsiaNews the following piece in which he describes the reaction of his community of faithful to the news.

The small Catholic community in Arvaiheer (21 people) joyfully welcomed the news that on 28 August Enkhee-Joseph will be ordained as the first native priest of ‘Outer’ Mongolia. In Chinese-controlled Inner Mongolia, there have been priests in the past century, but none in independent Mongolia. Enkhee will be the first.

Sitting around the table, sipping some suutei-tsai (a salty tea with milk) after Sunday Mass, parishioners expressed their views about the news. Obviously, they are happy about it.

For some, "Enkhee has shown that he is very patient and disciplined if he has managed to train for so long and in a foreign country." In fact, Enkhee spent many years at seminary in Daejeon, South Korea, the guest of the local diocese.

The faithful know that becoming a priest is a demanding process, especially in terms of self-discipline. Some actually can hardly believe it. Still "One of us has it made! And if he did it, others will follow his example. We are sure that there will be many after him."

In reality, no one knows him personally. When they were baptised, he was already in Korea to study. Of course, they their love and prayer went along with him to the faraway place.

"For us it is very important that the new priest be Mongolian because he will speak our language like one of our children or one of our siblings. More importantly, he will be able to link the faith to our traditions."

CHURCH IN IRAQ: Iraqi refugee children make First Communion in Erbil camp

Erbil, Iraq, May 28, 2016 / 05:13 am (CNA/EWTN News).- On Friday, the first of three rounds of displaced Iraqi children made their First Communion in a refugee camp in Erbil, providing a silver lining to an otherwise bleak situation.

Out of the 5,500 people living in Erbil’s Aishty 2 camp for the displaced, the majority – more than 2,000 – are children. Of these, 470 will make their First Communion in the coming weeks.

The number of children receiving the sacrament is up from last year’s class, which numbered about 400.

Since this year’s number of recipients is so high, the children have been divided into three groups. The first, numbering around 175, made their First Communion on Friday, May 27.

Next Friday, June 3, a second group of about 145 will receive the Eucharist, while the third and final group of about 150 will receive the sacrament Friday, June 10.

All of the children are from the Syriac-Catholic rite, and most fled the city of Qaraqosh, the former Christian capitol of Iraqi Kurdistan, with their families when ISIS militants attacked the night of Aug. 6, 2014.

The May 27 Mass for the first group was celebrated by Syriac-Catholic Archbishop of Mosul Yohanno Petros Moshe in the camp’s large, prefabricated church.

With a capacity for roughly 800 people, the church started out as a tent when the Christian refugees first poured into Erbil two years ago, asking for a place to pray. Now it serves as the main parish for the city’s Aishty camp, which is the largest in Erbil and is divided into three smaller camps: Aishty 1, 2 and 3.

The majority of people in the camp are from Qaraqosh, which is where the former See of their Church had been located before ISIS’ assault in 2014.

After moving the official See of their Church from Mosul to Qaraqosh several years ago due to both security concerns and the fact that most of the faithful resided in the city, Syriac-Catholics have now been left without any official diocese or headquarters whatsoever.

Now residing in a largely Chaldean dominated Erbil, they have been welcomed by the local Church and are working daily to keep up the spirits of their faithful, who face an uncertain future in the country.

For nearly 500 children to receive their First Communion in the camp is a sign of hope in a place where the flame of Christianity is flickering, growing dangerously closer to burning out.

Another sign of hope for Iraq’s Christians was the March ordination of four deacons in the same prefabricated parish. They are now working with refugees around the clock, and will likely be ordained priests in a few months’ time.

Three of the deacons, alongside the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena – who largely make up the backbone of Erbil’s extensive displaced Christian community – have been in charge of teaching the children’s catechesis in scripture and liturgy.

Jakarta (AsiaNews) - A Muslim woman blessed her son, a Catholic deacon, at the altar of the church where shortly after he was ordained priest. The incident happened three days ago in the chapel of the Major Seminary of Maumere on the island of Flores. Eleven deacons, belonging to the Divine Word Missionary order (SVD), were ordained in the presence of Msgr. Vincensius Poto Kota Pr, Archbishop of Ende.

Sites Asiyah, wearing Islamic dress (including the hijab), was accompanied by her son Robertus B. Asiyanto, nicknamed "Yanto", and laid her hands on his head, under the gaze of his adoptive father who was watching from the front with the rest of the family. "I'm really happy to see my son ordained a Catholic priest," said the woman at the end of the celebration.

The island of Flores, Eastern Nusa Taggara province, has the highest concentration of Catholics in the country, who form the majority of the population of the island. This is why it is rare for a Muslim family to willingly accept the conversion of a son to Catholicism, given that it is a rare event. Central Java is Muslim majority, but many men and women religious come from Muslim families, and it is not seen as exceptional.

In southern Sumatra the different paths of twin sisters has become famous: one is a devout Muslim, and has participated in the last pilgrimage (hajj) to Mecca; the other became Catholic and entered the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Pbhk) of Merauke, on the island of Papua. Both are happy and have good family relationships.

What is the Catholic Church’s official position on Freemasonry? Are Catholics free to become Freemasons?

Freemasonry is incompatible with the Catholic faith. Freemasonry teaches a naturalistic religion that espouses indifferentism, the position that a person can be equally pleasing to God while remaining in any religion.

Masonry is a parallel religion to Christianity. The New Catholic Encyclopedia states, “Freemasonry displays all the elements of religion, and as such it becomes a rival to the religion of the Gospel. It includes temples and altars, prayers, a moral code, worship, vestments, feast days, the promise of reward or punishment in the afterlife, a hierarchy, and initiation and burial rites.”

Masonry is also a secret society. Its initiates subscribe to secret blood oaths that are contrary to Christian morals. The prospective Mason swears that if he ever reveals the secrets of Masonry – secrets which are trivial and already well-known – he wills to be subject to self-mutilation or to gruesome execution. (Most Masons, admittedly, never would dream of carrying out these punishments on themselves or on an errant member).

Historically, one of Masonry’s primary objectives has been the destruction of the Catholic Church; this is especially true of Freemasonry as it has existed in certain European countries. In the United States, Freemasonry is often little more than a social club, but it still espouses a naturalistic religion that contradicts orthodox Christianity. (Those interested in joining a men’s club should consider the Knights of Columbus instead.)

The Church has imposed the penalty of excommunication on Catholics who become Freemasons. The penalty of excommunication for joining the Masonic Lodge was explicit in the 1917 code of canon law (canon 2335), and it is implicit in the 1983 code (canon 1374).

Because the revised code of canon law is not explicit on this point, some drew the mistaken conclusion that the Church’s prohibition of Freemasonry had been dropped. As a result of this confusion, shortly before the 1983 code was promulgated, the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith issued a statement indicating that the penalty was still in force. This statement was dated November 26, 1983 and may be found in Origins 13/27 (Nov. 15, 1983), 450.

Philadelphia’s Pink Sisters have prayed nonstop for 100 years

PHILADELPHIA — For more than 100 years, the cloistered nuns known as the Pink Sisters have worked in shifts to ensure nonstop prayer in Philadelphia’s Chapel of Divine Love.

Now, to address their shrinking numbers and ensure their prayers continue for another century, the Roman Catholic Holy Spirit Adoration sisters have begun quietly reaching out, seeking to grow their order while carefully maintaining their secluded life.

In the last year, they hung a banner outside their chapel and convent as a way to let other people know about their daily public Masses. They’ve granted more interviews with news reporters. And they have begun inviting Catholic women’s organizations and schools to speak to the sisters — with all conversations taking place through the grille in the convent visiting room, of course.

There’s even a subtle recruitment flier hanging just inside the front door of the chapel. It encourages visitors to ask themselves three questions: Do you love Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament? Do you realize the power of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament? Is Jesus calling you to say “yes” to a life of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament?

“We rarely reached out for vocation promotion before the centennial. But now we want young ladies to see how beautiful the life is and how truer the joy when it is without the trappings of material things,” said Sister Maria Clarissa, 55. “We do our part in addressing these challenges, but at the same time, we leave it to the Lord. He’s the one who calls.”

There were once as many as 40 nuns living in the Philadelphia convent. Now there are 20: The youngest is 52, and the oldest is 90.

I just got caught up with a lot of things, especially with what happened to ka Lowell Menorca and his family. But it only just proved to all of us that God is good and He is on our side, because what happened to Ka Lowell may appear to be a win for the other side, but a careful examination of the events and the repercussions of their continuous intimidation and harassment only highlights the fact that whatever they were aiming for, just backfired at them. They just made our jobs easier because more and more people are now informed, aware and awakened by the events that the INC Leaders are orchestrating just to cover up their mistakes. Here’s one proof that more and more brethren are now awake and are no longer silent. Meet Joe (not his real name obviously). A high-ranking deacon in one of the locales in the District of North Eastern Seaboard. This is what he has to say. Excerpts from our BBM conversation (ituloy ang pagbabasa RITO)

Para po sa mga KAANIB ng TUNAY na IGLESIA-- ang IGLESIA KATOLIKA, hindi po lahat ng nagpapakita ng kabutihan ay TOTOO. Siyasatin ang KANILANG PAKAY. Alamin kung ANO ang KANILANG LAYUNIN. At kung nakakatulong pansamantala sa inyong kabuhayan, tanggapin. Ngunit HINDING-HINDI dapat tanggapin ang kanilang aral. Sapagkat ang kanilang aral ay MULA LAMANG SA TURO ni FELIX MANALO na para sa kanila ay siyang "huling sugo"!

Marami po sa kanila ang hindi makapaniwala na ang iglesia ay nakalubog sa utang at ang mga abuloy nito ay kulang pa para itubo sa mga bilyun-bilyong utang nito sa mga bangko.

Ang isa po sa mga ipinambubulag at ipinantakip ng tiwali at magnanakaw na sanggunian ay ang pagpapatayo ng mga kapilyitas.

Kaya't sa kanilang pagbisita at hindi niyo sila binati, isang pagsunod lamang ito sa mga mahigpit na paalala ni Apostol San Juan. Ang inyong ginawa ay ikabubuti ng ating kaluluwa na HINDI MADADAYA kailanman!
