Mga INC™ 'Defenders' Gustong Mamagitan si Pangulong Duterte sa Gusot ng Iglesia Ni Cristo® ayon sa ABS-CBN

Henni Espinosa, ABS-CBN North America News Bureau
Posted at Jul 28 2016 06:38 PM

REDWOOD CITY, California - A video recently surfaced that reportedly showed residents of No. 36 Tandang Sora Avenue in Quezon City, Philippines pleading for help.

In the disputed property, expelled members of the influential Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), including Lottie and Angel, siblings of INC Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo, are reportedly living in deplorable conditions.

Rolando Dizon, former INC pastor said, "When you cut off the supply of food and water and medicine, you only have several days to live especially given their condition. There's no generator that produce electricity. You can only imagine how hot it is inside and so we're very concerned. Time is of the essence."

Dizon and Louie Cayabyab are among the so-called US-based "defenders" – former INC pastors and members who are speaking up against alleged abuses within the INC leadership.

They asked that their location be not identified.

They are calling on the INC to leave the residents of No. 36 Tandang Sora alone, which they said include children, the elderly and the sick.
The property is reportedly surrounded by masked guards who allegedly attacked the lawyer for Angel and Lottie, when she and her companions tried to help those inside the house recently.

"We are supposed to be the church of Christ but we are not following our lord Jesus Christ anymore," said cayabyab.

Last month, a Manila court has ordered the Manalo siblings to leave the compound and give up the property to the INC. They’ve sought refuge there since being expelled from the church last year.

Still, defenders said these former members should not be harassed and denied of basic needs.

Dizon expressed, "Even if they are not members of the church of Christ anymore because they were expelled by the leadership, they're still human beings."

They are now appealing to the new Philippine President Rodrigo Durterte to step in and do something because they said lives are at stake.
"Our brethren there are helpless and if something happens to them, that might also be not good for your image and for your administration," pleaded Cayabyab.

Balitang America tried to reach out to the INC leadership in North America but they have yet to respond to the latest conflict.

MILLIONS IN LOANS? Documents show that key INC officials were signatories in loan agreements to fund the Ciudad de Victoria project, which includes the Philippine arena.

(INC 102 Founding Anniversary)

MANILA, Philippines – It was touted as a world-class structure fit to showcase the growing clout of homegrown Philippine church Iglesia ni Cristo (INC). On Wednesday, July 27, the influential church celebrates its 102nd year.

Two years ago in 2014, the Iglesia opened the Philippine Arena, the world’s largest indoor theater, to widespread attention: an P8.7-billion ($200 million) megastructure that served as the centerpiece of the sprawling 75-hectare Ciudad de Victoria complex in Bulacan.

Conceived, designed, and envisioned as a world-class stage for local and international events, the arena has played host to several events: from the INC’s centennial celebrations, to a concert by local celebrity tandem AlDub, and a performance by American pop superstar Katy Perry.

An expert on sociology of religion, Jayeel Cornelio said of the Iglesia ni Cristo in a previous interview that the Philippine Arena "is an establishment, is a marker, of what they (INC) are right now in the 21st century. They're not a religion in the Philippines. They're a religion in the world.”

Funds for the arena, the INC said, came from the donations of its members, a practice that aligns with the teachings of the church’s second executive minister, the late Eraño “Ka Erdy” Manalo.

In some of his messages to INC members, Ka Erdy had emphasized that the INC should spend within its means, and denounced the idea of the church incurring debts to fund its projects.

Documents obtained by Rappler, however, showed that INC officials had engaged in agreements with two banks, to obtain a P1.137 billion loan to partially fund the construction of Phase 1 of the Ciudad de Victoria project.

According to recitals in the loan documents, Phase 1 of the project includes the construction of a “multi-purpose indoor arena, and certain commercial and retail buildings and structures.”

But several amendments to the agreements showed that INC leaders had asked for additional amounts of up to P3 billion to repay the existing loan.

To secure these loan agreements, at least 61 INC-owned properties – ranging from church sites to residential and agricultural areas in Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Cavite, and Baguio – were put up as mortgaged collateral.

In addition to this, 317 condominium units in Quezon City, with a total market value of more than P1 billion, were also included as collateral.

Up to P3 billion requested

Based on the documents, the INC was one of the parties in loan agreements entered into by the Maligaya Development Corporation (MDC) with two banks: the Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (MBTC) and the Asia United Bank Corporation (AUB).

MDC, the borrower, was represented by Glicerio Santos IV, while the INC was represented by the church’s auditor, Glicerio Santos Jr. (READ: Part 1: Who is Glicerio Santos Jr in the Iglesia ni Cristo?)

Santos Jr was also the signatory for the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation (FMF) and the New Era University (NEU).

According to the memorandum of agreement among MDC, NEU, and INC, the church agreed to turnover the completion of Phase 1 of the Ciudad de Victoria project to NEU, with the participation of MDC.

NEU and MDC were to take part in the “financing, construction and development” of the project.

To finance this, MDC acted as borrower in a March 2014 omnibus loan and security agreement with lender MBTC. The latter agreed to provide P1,137,500,000 to partially fund the construction and development of Phase 1 of the project.

But in July 2014, MDC requested for P750 million from MBTC to repay its existing loan.

A month after that, MDC and MBTC entered into a second amendment to the omnibus agreement. MDC sought up to P3 billion to repay its existing loan, putting the total principal amount to up to P4,887,500,000.

Mortgaged collateral

To secure the loan, MDC and the third party mortgagors (those who mortgage their property) – INC and FMF – provided additional mortgaged collateral, covering 61 INC-owned properties. These properties ranged from church sites to agricultural properties to residential ones, located in various areas in Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, and Baguio.

In addition to this, 317 units owned by the INC in LIG Condominium in Quezon City were included as additional mortgaged collateral. According to the appraisal report, the units have a total market value of P1,000,317,000.

The Philippines is the 5th largest Christian country on earth, with about 90% of the population being adherents. It is also one of two predominantly Roman Catholic nations in Asia (the other being East Timor), and is the third largest Catholic country in the world.

Based on the Philippine Census for the year 2000, an estimated 85.5% of Filipinos are Christians which consists of 80.1% Roman Catholic, 1.8% Evangelical, 0.7% Iglesia ni Cristo, 1.1% Aglipayan, and 2.2% other Christian groups including other Protestant denominations (Baptist, Pentecostal, Anglican, Methodist, and Seventh Day Adventist) as well as Orthodox. Between 5%-11% of the whole country is Muslim; about 1% to 2% are Buddhist; 1.8% of the entire population adheres to other independent religions, while 1% to 11%[4] are irreligious.

1.“Catholics worship statues.”
This stereotype is painful to hear. Not only is this completely false, but it is ludicrous. Despite the fact that there are 801 millions Protestants world-wide, according to the Pew Research Center, my rant will be geared towards our brothers and sisters in the United States. In this country, approximately 51.5% of people are Protestant Christians. Realistically, most of these families have pictures in their home, which is completely normal, right? Right. They have pictures of their loved ones, both living and deceased. Is it not hypocritical then to say that Catholics are idol worshipers, when these families have portraits of their loved ones on the walls? If these Protestant families can have pictures of Uncle Bernie and Mawmaw hanging on the wall, then most certainly the Church can present pictures of our beloved Jesus, his disciples, and the saints.

2.“Catholics pray to Mary instead of God.”
This is a very common misconception throughout the Protestant community, and while I can understand why it is, I am also disheartened that many jump to such a harsh conclusion of the Catholic faith. We don’t pray to Mary, we ask her to pray for us, just as a Protestant asks their deceased grandparent/parent to watch over them.

3. “The saints can’t hear your prayers, because they are dead.”
I beg to differ. Since when is anyone who is in Heaven considered dead? We call it the afterLIFE for a reason. In fact, there is biblical proof that the saints can hear our prays:
-Revelation 5:8 “And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.”
-Revelation 8:3-4 “Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand.”

4. “Mother Mary isn’t important; she’s just like anyone else.”
If our Blessed Mother isn’t important, then every female would have had an immaculate conception. For this reason, that is why the declarative statement above doesn’t make sense. Of course Mother Mary is important, she gave birth to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What is so amazing about the Catholic faith is the fact that we recognize the importance of Mary, and we honor her accordingly. She is a role model and saint for all Christians to look up to, because she submitted to God completely. Until the day another woman gives birth to Jesus, no one will ever be just like Mary. She is a very special, holy woman.

5. “Catholics made up all their rules.”
Every single tradition we have in the Catholic Church, namely during Mass, has biblical roots. Not to mention the fact that Jesus was the founder of our Church. I don’t know about you, but Jesus doesn’t make mistakes.

6. “God said to confess sins to Him, not a priest.”
This one is a personal favorite of mine. Drum roll please.
-James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”
It is true that we pray directly to God, and ask Him to forgiveness, however for sins (mortal) we do as Jesus commands and confess it to one another (our priests). Jesus said this directly to his disciples, so through Him, they were able to forgive sins. This power passed down to every priest, and so on and so forth. That felt good.

7. “Catholicism is a cult.”
Jesus Christ founded this Church more than 2,000 years ago, I would hardly call it a cult.

8. “Catholics aren’t Christians.”
The word Christian is associated with anyone who follows Christ’s teachings, and since the Catholic Church does just that then we are to be called Christians. Not to mention Catholics were actually the first Christians.

9. “Catholics added books to the Holy Bible.”
This one is so hilarious it hurts. For 300 years there was no Bible, only random writings from the prophets like St.Peter etc, until the Catholic monks compiled and canonized what is now known today as the Holy Bible. (That is until the Protestant Reformation occurred, in which one man *Martin Luther* removed 7 books). Ouch.

10. “Catholics believe you can pay your way into Heaven.”
We definitely do not. That is a huge misconception which occurred during the Protestant Reformation.

Despite the many stereotypes that hang over our faith, the important thing to remember is our Church has stood the test of time and remained for more than 2,000 years. Whether you are Catholic or Protestant-- we are all followers of Christ, and He is the ultimate goal.

“The truth is like a lion. You don’t have to defend it, let it loose, and it will defend itself.”

BY BENITO AFFLECK ·SUNDAY, JULY 17, 2016

P A R T  T W O

Let us open now the ANNEX - “D” to “D-14” , but before scrutinizing the whole inclusions in the said annexes, I will start on Annexes “D-7” to D-14”, the CHURCH COUNCIL’S CERTIFICATE , further says ;

“ x x x x x We, constituting the majority of the members of the Church Council of the IGLESIA NI CRISTO, with its Executive Minister ERANO G. MANALO as corporation sole, duly organized and existing by virtue of the laws of the Republic of the Philippines and with principal office at the INC Building No, 1 Central Avenue, New Era , Quezon City, Philippines, do hereby CERTIFY that at the General Meeting of the members of the Church Council held on April 25, 2007, at the principal office of the Church with the same address above=mentioned, at which a majority of the memers of the Church Council were present and voted throughout, the members of the Church Council voted and adopted that the Church’s By-Laws be correspondingly amended to reflect the changes proposed, discussed and approved by the Church Council and which changes are reflected in the copies of said By-Laws.

We further certify that the attached copies of the Second Amendment of the Iglesia ni Cristo By-Laws are true and correct copies of the Amended By-Laws.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, We have hereunto set our hands this 25th day of April 2007, in Quezon City, Philippines ..
Scanned pictures of signed documents attached. hereto.I put “ color” coding to emphasize the MISREPRESENTATIONS and technicalities of the said CHURCH COUNCIL’S CERTIFICATE . RED - questionable ; ORANGE - CTC acquired January of 2007 ; GREEN - for the month of February, 2007 ; BROWN - for the month of March, 2007 and YELLOW - for the month of April, 2007

The above document was signed April 25, 2007 duly scribscribed, sworn and notarized (again!!!) by ATTY. SUSAN MAY C. TUAZON ( now with her real Attorney’s Roll Number and IBP Number ) affixed her signature ,place of commssion, Quezon City, Office address No. 1 Central Avenue, New Era, Quezon City , Roll of Attorney’s No. 34477 , PTR No. 8437841, QC on January 4, 2007 and IBP Lifetime No. 02067. Docketed the said documents under Docket Number 28; Page Number 7; Book No. XIII; Series of 2007 .

Question No. 1, if the said document is legally subscribed and sworn to dated April 25, 2007 why are there COMMUNITY TAX CERTIFICATES presented dated : December 10, 2007 for Ministers ISAIAS T. SAMSON JR. , CTC No. 07584423 and RENE J. PANONCILLO , CTC No. 07584452 both issued in Quezon City ? Also, Minister EMILIANO C. MAGTOTO, JR , dated September 19, 2007 with CTC No. 04279688. ? Did Atty check the document before she signed and notarized it ? Or its just still a FICTITIOUS and FRAUDULENT document presented in order to justify the ACCESSION to OFFICE ?

2. Don’t you know that issuance of COMMUNITY TAX CERTIFICATES every year started with number “ 0” or “1” in the whole country ? Why then, CTC issued in December and September started with the number “0” ?

My curiousity dictates me to do the research on all those COMMUNITY TAX CERTIFICATES so i gather all numbers and dates of issuances to find out that , majority are just like raffling of winning numbers of Jueteng or LOTTO , others are real (very few) , the funniest thing I discovered there are dates that are Sundays. Well, dates they knew are recycled dates . Very obvious these are fraudulents CTC numbers.

CTC of Minister DAN V. OROSA is 075332086 , dated Jan 30 , 2007 ? Which do you think comes first CTC N. 075332086 or 07532901 , acquired Jan 4, 2007 under the name of Brother Erano G. Manalo ? Both from the issuance of Quezon City.
Minister Ramil Parba assigned as Secretary for Research, has his CTC No. 21400196, issued February 07, 2007 in Quezon City. The corresponding CTC Number was never issued in February of 2007. .

Minister Ed Carigma CTC No. 04049809 , place of issue Cebu City was issued Sunday . There is no office in weekend . so how come he can acquired it ?

Spot the difference in these two (2) CTC Numbers 07648412 & 06788716 issued to Ministers RENATO D. CALLEJO in Kalibo Aklan and DANIEL M. LAPADA issued in Tuguegarao both in the same date of March 12,2007 ..

No issuance of CTC Numbers starting in “0” in the months of March and April

Another SPOT the difference, CTC Nos. 14571517 issued to Minister DIONISIO D. MAGNO issued in Roxas Isabela and 14528715 to Minister NATHANIEL M. TRIGUERO , issued in Lucena City the latter was April 16, 2007 and the first one was February 20, 2007. Two different municipalities , the start of first 3 digits number did not correspond on the right month of issuance of the said CTC numbers.

While, Minister ERNESTO A. PACIENTE”s CTC is missing one digit . CTC has an eight digit numbers after the year of issuance . Maybe we can say it was a typo error, if the judge will admit it or we can say “Tell it to the marines !!!” they check it before signing to see if there are some corrections. One or two corrections are enough, but more than those a mere MISREPRESENTATIONS or in fact a FRAUDULENT one.

Minister JOEL F. PEDROSO got his CTC No. 23136977 , dated February 25, 2007 at Donsol, Sorsogon. February 25, 2007 is Sunday and the celebration of EDSA REVOLUTION a public holiday.

No issuance of CTC numbers started in “2” in January 2007, so how come Minister AZRIEL M. PELAEZ had his CTC No. 26653132 issued in Coron, Palawan ?

Same thing with Minister ROBERTO ALCONTIN ‘s CTC number 24452056 , issued in Pagadian City . Likewise, the rest of ministers fake COMMUNITY TAX CERTIFICATES sufficient enough to NULLIFY the CHURCH COUNCIL’S CERTIFICATE done April 25, 2007.

Records in Securities Exchange Commission shows that the said CHURCH COUNCIL’S CERTIFICATE was only received with receive stamp JANUARY 24, 2008 and it was the HRAD who received the said copy. HRAD is the HUMAN RESOURCE and ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT who is not an authorized department to receive and docketed this kind of document.. The functions of this department are 1. Oversees all human resource and administrative support functions for the SEC, including equipment, supplies, mail, and facility security.2. Oversees all activities related to employment policies and practices. Ensures SEC compliance with all Philippine labor laws. Interacts with related government agencies as necessary in establishing policies and practices and addressing employee grievances. Why HRAD ?

Every document submitted in the proper department who has the jurisdiction over the matter has a proper documentation of it will be reflected in the Corporate Filing and Records Division , INC LEGAL DEPARTMENT has his liason officer who are doing business with the rignt department in SEC , what happened ? Or Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix wands made it ????

The said CHURCH COUNCILS CERTIFICATE was made and notarized April 25, 2007 , why is is only JANUARY 24, 2008 it was submitted in SEC through HRAD ? Are we missing something here?

...to be continued ...

Iglesia Ni Cristo®: "It is not the true one. It is a false church" paratang ng dating kaanib nila

As I planned to write this piece I was at the crossroads of my membership with the Iglesia ni Cristo. Shall I stay? Or shall I leave?

I have been an avid member of the Iglesia ni Cristo since the time of Bro. Eraño Manalo. I believed all its teachings that it is the true church. I stayed loyal for more than a decade now, doing my part and giving my all that was required of the members. I had no complains. I felt it was okay so that we could have beautiful chapels that are our pride and joy.
But I am not exactly moneyed: my salary is just enough to give my part. And that explains why I think I am also entitled to say my piece and ask where the money goes. Where do they really go? I am asking this question and other questions because of the recent events that have captured the attention of the world on us. Are we really a true church? Is the Iglesia ni Cristo God’s church?

Now and then, I would hear people attacking the teachings of the church especially the part that says Christ is man. But that did not bother me. I still have time to check on that. Politically, there are those issues like the legitimacy of bloc voting that sometimes a brother is pitted against his family. He cannot vote for his relative but only for the wishes of the Administration or else he gets excommunicated. I had an experience that closely hews to this one. It concerned my father who lost the barangay elections because earlier he did not vote for the choice of the Administration. They pitted someone against him. Poor father! That was painful to me but I still let that pass.

We were told not to watch the programs of Eliseo Soriano or Bro. Eli – that proud minster that left us and now talks a lot against the church. But one fortunate Friday, without intending to, I had the opportunity to watch him in one of his recent Bible Expositions. There, flashed on the screen, I saw our ministers unabashedly flashing a death threat on him. They were saying, if he comes back (to the country), he would be met at the airport; there would be red carpet on the floor. Candles would burn for him and there would be free peanuts. They sealed their talk saying, “To Bro. Eli, peace be with you!”

I was so ashamed of myself. And I thought we drove him away in an effort to gag his mouth. This Bro. Eli was saying at the Exposition that he was forced to leave the country on account of the INC. He explained that events happened fast when he dared our Sugo to have a debate with him. But we did not respond to that challenge, right?

I knew that our brother, Daniel Veridiano, had filed a rape case against Soriano. When that move did not prosper, he went to GMA7 and had himself interviewed. I came to know more about this case because of that Boycott Page of the Ang Dating Daan people in Facebook. From the Long Description of that page, it appeared that they are still smarting from a Second Insult from GMA. They say that despite their complaints of irresponsible reporting, some 3 years after, their sister station aired that controversial interview also. That is why it is a GMA7-11 that the Ang Dating Daan are boycotting, going five years now, they say. Don’t tell me we had nothing to do with this GMA caper. We love to persecute Soriano.

I also learned that Daniel Veridiano is in fact a former member of Soriano’s group. He is called “Puto” over there. They know him as one who took advantage of 14 of his office mates – all sexual offenses. It appears that the INC only used him against Soriano and more. The case was dismissed and then re-filed by virtue of INC influence with Gloria Arroyo, the president that time. That is why the preacher is charging us with panggigipit. This persecution has something to do with political influence, right?

If we center this discussion on Soriano – the man we love to pester just because he keeps examining our beliefs – he would say in his expositions that we are guilty of the following: “pamamaratang, panggigipit, paninira, pagdedemanda, pagtatangka sa buhay, at panguusig sa ADD.” In English, these are “ false accusations, persecutions, defamations, filing cases of false charges, threat on life, and oppression of the Ang Dating Daan.”

[simula sa running time -6:14]

[running time -5:40]

[running time -5:18]

ANO ANG KALAGAYAN NI CRISTO BAGO PA MAN SIYA NAGKATAWANG-TAO at ANO ANG SINASABI NG BIBLIA AT NG MGA APOSTOL UKOL SA KANYA?

Which Translation of the Bible is the Best?

Some people mistakenly think the King James Version of the Bible (KJV), with its eloquent thee’s and thou’s, is the original version.[1]But the Bible was not written in seventeenth-century Old English. More than 1,500 years earlier, the New Testament was written in ancient Greek; and long before that the Old Testament was written in ancient Hebrew, along with some Aramaic and Greek (the Old Testament was later translated into the Greek Septuagint).

As time went on, all these texts were translated into Latin, which is the official language of the Church, as well as popular languages like German, French, and English. Today, the entire Bible has been translated into more than 500 languages, and most languages offer several different translations.

It’s important to remember that there is only one version of the Bible, but there are many different translations of it. How can this be? The art of translation is not as simple as taking a word in one language and then using a dictionary to find the equivalent word in another language. Translators have differing opinions about how words and phrases in a text should be reproduced into another language that has different vocabulary, different rules of grammar, and embodies different cultural attitudes than the language of the text their translating.

Formal equivalence translations

One approach they use is called formal equivalence, and it strives to communicate the original words the author used. The most formally equivalent translations of Scripture would be interlinear Bibles that replace the original words in the biblical text with their modern counterparts. Using an interlinear translation, John 3:16, one of the most famous verses in Scripture, sounds like this: “Thus indeed loved God the world that the Son the only begotten he gave that everyone believing in him not should perish but might have life."

As you can see, interlinear translations sound stilted and can be confusing, because they take words that made sense in one language and transfer them into another language without considering that language’s grammar. Most formally equivalent translations change the order and kinds of words that are used in order to help modern audiences understand the author’s original meaning. The Catholic Revised Standard Version (RSV), which tends to be formally equivalent in its translation, renders the passage in this way: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

Dynamic equivalence translations

Another approach to translation is dynamic equivalence, which strives to communicate the original idea the author intended to convey, even if it does not use his original words. Some translators prefer this approach, because the author’s original words may not have the same meaning or not be as recognizable today and so newer words are used to better communicate his original idea. This can be seen in translations that render the Greek word dikaiosis “considered righteous" instead of the traditional term “justified," as in James 2:24: “a man is justified [or in other translations, ‘considered righteous’] by works and not by faith alone."
